Mike sent us a couple of photos from our visit to the Chapel of the Holy Cross.
Gorgeous setting, eh?
Day 8 - We hired a shuttle of tour the vortex sites. Here we are at the trail head to Cathedral Rock vortex.
Saw this gorgeous prickly pear cactus in bloom.
This is Beth at the Airport Mesa vortex with a view of West Sedona in the background.
And here's Bev at the Airport Mesa vortex facing the view towards Oak Creek Village.
Bev on the trail to Boynton Canyon vortex.
Beth trying to avoid being attacked by a cactus on the same trail.
We had an excellent dinner at a family owned Thai restuarant that had this naughty picture in the ladies room.
Day 9 - Here we are on a Pink Jeep tour to view the petroglyphs (rock art)in Red Tank Draw.
Bev with our intrepid guide, Peter. We were the only two people taking this particular tour.
Beth with the drop off into the draw just behind her.
Peter points out some petroglyphs on the rock face.
We actually managed to get a pretty good picure of some of them.
Beth just had to climb up here and jubilate.
Beth and Bev scrambling over the rocks in the stream bed we followed to find the rock art.
Day 10 - We walked to Bell Rock from Kokopelli Inn.
Good view of Bell Rock in the background.
Bev jubilating sitting at the foot of Bell Rock.
Day 11 - We hired the Going My Way shuttle again, this time to drive us out to Slide Rock Park in Oak Creek Canyon. This is Sanna the owner/driver, who was a real hoot.
Beth knocking at the door of what was a tourist cabin a long time ago.
Bev by the sign for the Slide Rock Market with some of the fantastic rock formations in the background.
A view towards upstream of Oak Creek with Bev.
Another view upstream with Beth.
The water here is flowing over the rocks that give Slide Rick its name. Folks sit on the very slippery rocks and get carried downstream.
Bev and Beth got into the water up to their ankles.
