Grand Canyon plus

Day 4 was lost after a horrid red-eye flight to Phoenix then another hour's flight on to Flagstaff. A tall lean french (Jean-Paul) cowboy met us at the airport and drove us through Oak Creek Canyon (we were too tired to really enjoy the view) to Kokopelli Inn in Sedona - where we crashed for a while.

Recouperated enough to enjoy our first Mexican dinner in Arizona.Bev treated herself to her very first marguerita.

Day 5 - After shopping at the factory outlet shops down the road from the inn, Beth came upon her very first horse in Arizona.

After Mike (Beth's brother) and Van (Mike's partner)arrived, we took off to see Montezuma's Castle.

That's Van on the left and Mike on the right.

After a full day, we had dinner at The Barking Frog (and yes there really is such an animal).

Sunset overlooking Sedona from the Airport Mesa.

Day 6 - Caught Bev shopping for indian crafts at the Oak Creek Valley scenic overview on the way to the Grand Canyon.

Beth and Mike with a view of Oak Creek Canyon behind them.

This is our first real life view of the canyon near the trailhead at Angel Point.

Here are the mules we didn't ride to the bottom of the canyon. Besides which, they were really tired having been down and back up already that day.

Van Beth take a breather along the trail down (we actually didn't go very far down).

Here are Bev, Van and Mike at another overlook of the Grand Canyon.

We got a view all the way down to the Colorado River!!!

Awesome view from Mander Point.

East

North (we think)

Here we are (observed by two black birds on the rock behind us) at one of the scenic overviews at Mander Point.

Back in Sedona, we had an excellent Mexican meal. Look at the size of those meals!!!

Day 7 - We're off for a hike up to see Devil's Bridge.

It was a long walk up the road from where Mike parked the car because it kept bottoming out on the rough forest road.

Here is a lovely cactus in bloom along the trail.

At last we're at the bridge. Mike and Van climbed it. We didn't.

Although we did walk up for a closer view.

Bev takes a much needed breather on the trek back to the car.

We stopped at Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village (extremely pricey)and had a picnic lunch on these benches. What an amazing sculpture, eh!

I tried taking more photos but my camera battery ran out of juice.

We went on to see the Chapel of the Holy Cross on the way back to the inn. I couldn't get photos, but you can check it out at http://www.dreamsedona.com/chapel-holy-cross.html

Next update after we've been to the vortexes.
